DO LIGHTENING BODY WASHES WORK?

DO LIGHTENING BODY WASHES WORK?

How Lightening works…

Lightening happens when The Melanin Production of the Skin is inhibited. This means that a product has to be applied and stay on ling enough to actually inhibit this melanin.

Body Washes are Rinse off products.

Most people do not even apply it directly to body, it’s applied to Sponge then to body and rinsed off.

You’re out of the bathroom in five minutes.

There’s not enough time for the Product to actually do anything.

So ideally Lightening Body Washes don’t work.

Most active ingredients have to stay on for at least 10 minutes or more to actually penetrate or attempt to do something.

Retinol Body Wash, Vitamin C body wash do not do anything remotely connected to these actives in a rinse off form.

Leave your retinols and Vitamin C as leave on products.

Here are actives to look out for instead that would give off a brightening vibe in a short time and would work well in Body Washes:

1. AHA Acids

2. Salicylic Acids

3. Milk and Rice Extracts.

These actives while they do not lighten directly can refine the texture of skin and remove dead skin cells for a brighter appearance.

That Said, Washes that are able to lighten you in that short amount of time may contain harmful chemicals like Mercury and large amounts of steroids.

This is why you should look out instead for washes that cleanse mildly, brighten, exfoliate and repair. The closer the PH of a body wash is to your skin, the better.
